American Football in Buganda Kingdom at Higher Institutions

Muteesa I Royal University, the Deputy Dean of Students, & student body welcoming American football

The initiative also connects with Muteesa I Royal University, one of Buganda’s key higher-learning institutions known for promoting cultural heritage, innovation, and practical skill development. Introducing American football to Muteesa I Royal University opens space for students to engage in a modern, globally recognized sport that strengthens teamwork, leadership, and discipline. The university’s strong community identity makes it an ideal environment for nurturing new athletic programs. By including Muteesa I Royal University in this growing movement, the project aims to build a wider network of students who can participate in competitive American football and benefit from its educational value.

The initiative has also been warmly received at Muteesa I Royal University, where the Deputy Dean of Students and the wider student body officially welcomed the introduction of American football. Their support reflects the university’s commitment to expanding co-curricular opportunities that build discipline, leadership, and teamwork. By embracing this modern, globally recognized sport, Muteesa I Royal University joins Buganda Royal Institute in promoting athletic innovation and student development. The enthusiasm shown by students demonstrates a strong readiness to participate in the growing American football program and to engage in new avenues of physical education and community-building.
